The Progress Club
Social club and a charitable foundation supporting the community since 1912
The Progress Club has been serving the Rockville, Maryland community since 1912. Founded by several prominent Washington businessmen, the club was built on two core values: fellowship and a strong commitment to helping others. Over the years, it has grown into a longstanding community institution with approximately 160 members, representing a wide range of professions as well as many retirees.
Guided by its slogan, “Dedicated to the needs of others,” The Progress Club is deeply committed to charitable work. Through The Progress Club Foundation, the organization sponsors a variety of charitable activities and community-focused events that help support important local causes. This spirit of giving has remained at the heart of the club for more than a century and continues to define its mission today.
In addition to its charitable efforts, the club provides a welcoming social environment for members and guests at its location in the Congressional Shopping Center, where it has been based since the early 1980s.
